H1N1 Flu Vaccination clinic on 12/9

The Center for Student Health and Counseling will be offering the H1N1 flu vaccination for eligible PSU students onWednesday 12/9 from 1:30-4:30 in SMSU 294.

You are eligible to receive a vaccination if you are taking 5 or more credits and meet one or more of the criteria per the Multnomah county guidelines

SHAC, along with PSU will be closed from December 19th through December 28th. SHAC will reopen on Tuesday, December 29th. Click here to see a complete list of our hours.

We heard your feedback, and have made some changes. We encourage all students to CALL FIRST if you are in need of medical services, rather than walking in. So, if you have a medical concern and wish to be seen call 503-725-2800.

Please note that on Fridays, we now open at 9:00 a.m.

Free women's health exams

The OHSU Center for Women’s Health through generous community donations is able to offer free women’s health exams (Pap test, pelvic exam and clinical breast exam) every month. Any woman experiencing barriers to receiving these preventive screenings is welcome to call.

Reducing Stigma about Mental Illness

Visit the Bring Change 2 Mind Web site to learn about mental illness and view a video about reducing stigma that surrounds mental illness. From the Web site: “This is the first effort of this magnitude in U.S. history. Ron Howard generously donated his time in directing this PSA that features Glenn Close and her sister, Jessie Close. John Mayer generously donated his song, Say, which serves as an anthem for this movement. ”


Mindfulness: Reduce stress, improve concentration, develop emotional balance

Things You Need to Know

Did You Fulfill Your MMR Requirement?

The Oregon State System of Higher Education requires all incoming students to show evidence of immunity to measles (Rubeola) and mumps. If the information you submit regarding your MMR vaccination history is incomplete or insufficient, a hold will be placed on future terms of registration at PSU. Click here for more information and for a copy of the MMR form.


SHAC's No-Show and Cancellation Policy

If you are unable to make your scheduled appointment with Student Health Services or Counseling and Psychological Services, you are now to notify SHAC by the close of the business day prior to your appointment. If you fail to attend your scheduled appointment or fail to cancel according to the SHAC Cancellation Policy, your student account will be assessed a $25 Missed Appointment Fee. Night messaging is acceptable.
